Welcome to my Panama Streets Blog

Since I'm currently living in Panama, and street photography have become a new discovery in  photographic endeavors, I present to you some snaps around a completely uncommon city in the middle of America, right around the Panama Canal.
Panama is an interesting country. Their history is tightly tied to the Canal and everything that happened around it, starting from when the French came here trying to build a straight inter oceanic canal, which ended in failure. Later the US came and discovered that the harshest conditions were the mountains, which are not particularly high, but presented an unbearable barrier. The Americans found out that it was through the use of locks, that they will be able to accomplish the Canal, riding the vessels up and down the hills. Is really a demonstration of modern engineering, although it was built in 1914.
A new effort to increase the canal width capacity is well underway, expecting to be ready in 2014. One hundred years after the first canal was built. And they said it was going to last 100 years. Are they sharp or not?

Here is and will be my humble gallery of my daily chores around the city, primarily commuting to and from work everyday, and secondly, on whichever opportunity I have, to record the city immense source for street shooting.

Enjoy
